IMMI Contemporary

IMMI Contemporary is a curated art platform based in Byron Bay, supporting artists through sustainable opportunities. The platform operates through an online gallery, consulting, and advisory, supporting artists with presentation, placement, and collection.

The gallery presents a considered selection of works, alongside occasional exhibitions and site-responsive projects. Through its consulting practice, IMMI works with private and commercial clients to source and place contemporary artwork across interior spacess. Advisory services support artists in developing their practice, including positioning, and access to opportunities.

Grounded in the Northern Rivers, IMMI responds to the need for greater opportunities for regional artists, connecting their work with audiences and spaces both locally and beyond.

Founder

IMMI Contemporary was founded by curator and creative producer Ingrid ‘Immi’ Wilson, drawing on her experience in curatorial practice, consulting, and communications.

Her early career included curatorial and programming roles across both independent and institutional contexts, alongside experience in commercial art advisory and corporate collection environments.

Ingrid has spent the past eight years working within the regional arts sector across the Northern Rivers, contributing to multi-arts programs and delivering funded exhibitions, events, and cross-sector initiatives.

Alongside her curatorial work, she leads communications and audience development across a range of arts organisations and projects, supporting the visibility and positioning of artists and programs.

Her practice is shaped by an awareness of the disparity between regional and metropolitan arts opportunities, supporting artists to bridge these contexts.
