Biamanga Scars from the Lake in Dad's Boat (Just a Sea Fog) uses mark making in pure pigment and gouache to reflect on the physical impact of the 2019-20 Black Summer bushfires on Yuin Country, where the artist lives. The title refers to the fire scars the artist observed across the sacred mountain of Biamanga while fishing with her family on the lake near their home. Inspired by the changing landscape, seasonal rhythms and family routines, the artist's practice explores how a place holds both everyday memories and moments of profound change. Through soft layers and subtle marks, the work reflects resilience, memory and a deep connection to Country.
