Sean Leonard is an emerging artist based on Bundjalung Country in the Byron Shire. His paintings develop through instinctive mark-making, layering and revision. Moving between abstraction and drawing, his work has a restless visual language that remains open to change.

Daydream balances loose structure with drifting, intuitive marks. A faint reclining figure sits at the base of the composition, surrounded by scattered forms and fragments of thought against a vivid yellow ground. The yellow brings brightness but also a slight unease, set against washes of grey and softer pastel marks.
