Supporting Liv Enqvist’s Love Letters to the Land
Love Letters to the Land is a climate-focused textile project shaped through embroidery workshops across the Northern Rivers.
I'm feeling very lucky to support Liv Enqvist as Love Letters to the Land moves from idea to application, and now into delivery.
This climate-focused textile project is shaped through a series of embroidery workshops across the Northern Rivers. Participants are invited to stitch small love letters to the places, plants, rivers and landscapes they love, reflecting on how we can care for them in a changing climate. Each piece will contribute to a larger textile artwork by Liv, bringing together individual reflections from across the region.
The first workshop took place at Woom Space in Brooklet, with further workshops at Lismore Regional Gallery and GardenHouse in Byron Bay, followed by a final showing in November.

Artist support in practice
This project is a beautiful example of the kind of artist support offered through IMMI Contemporary.
Support for this project began at the application stage, helping shape the project language, budget, timeline and supporting documents. Since the project was funded, that support has continued into the practical delivery phase, including project planning, communications and delivery support.
Alongside Love Letters to the Land, IMMI has supported Liv across a wider body of professional development, including strategy and writing, opportunity planning and general arts admin.

About Liv Enqvist
Liv Enqvist is a textile artist working on Bundjalung Country. Working primarily with hand embroidery, her practice centres on slow, repetitive processes that build form over time, often incorporating text, language and place.
