The work combines printed imagery with a tactile process of découpage on MDF. Layers of imagery are cut, arranged and adhered to the surface, creating a sense of depth and texture that sits somewhere between printmaking, collage and object. The work is presented in an artist-made floating frame.
Baby Got Back moves between cool greens and blues, the surface resolving and dissolving into form the longer you look. It sits at the edge of recognition - something like landscape, something like body - inviting a slow read rather than an immediate one.
