About
Kris Klein (b. 1983) is a Northern Rivers-based artist whose work draws on personal experience, memory and place, and how these shape a sense of self over time. Largely self-taught, with recent study at the Byron School of Art, Klein builds his paintings through layers of paint and drawing, allowing each work to develop intuitively rather than from a fixed plan.
Interior No. 1 draws on the stillness of home before the day begins. Built intuitively through layers of oil and charcoal, softened forms and a muted palette create a sense of interior space that is both physical and personal.
