About
Sean Leonard is an emerging artist based on Bundjalung Country in the Byron Shire. His paintings develop through instinctive mark-making, layering and revision. Moving between abstraction and drawing, his work has a restless visual language that remains open to change.
Protection explores the human instinct to seek safety in a world that often feels uncertain, and the places, rituals and familiar comforts we turn to for reassurance. It reflects our desire to create a sense of order and belonging, and the deeply personal ways we try to protect ourselves and the things we hold dear.
