About
Katie Pink is a New Zealand-born emerging artist living and working on Bundjalung Country in the Northern Rivers, NSW. Working predominantly in abstract painting, Pink uses layers of colour, texture, sanding and erasure to create surfaces that move between softness, disruption and play. Her intuitive practice explores resilience and transformation, often using pink and unexpected colour as a way of softening and reshaping heavier experiences.
Built through layers of spray paint and acrylic on board, The Pinkies Part of the Day has been repeatedly worked, covered and stripped back until arriving at a quieter, more resolved surface.
